Lithology and Thickness

Complexly alternating siltstone (aleurolites), argillitic slates, sandstones, conglomerates, gravellites, and limestones, characterized by the presence of lenticular horizons of massive limestones and flaggy sandstones, representing biogenic formations. Thickness 900m.

Lithology Pattern:
Siltstone

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Almost everywhere it is associated with the Kushkumbay Fm, on which it conformably lies

Upper contact

the upper stratigraphic boundary is unknown.

Regional extent

Northern Tamdytau, Kyratass-Teskydak-Kynyr strip, south of the Aktaus ridge. Previously, Upper Paleozoic, Lower Silurian, and Ordovician terrigenous and volcanogenic formations were mistakenly included. The Kyngyr Fm includes the Kosbulak Fm and Koskydak Fm and part of the Lower Devonian carbonates.
